This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website (including karepharmtech.com and any related sites or portals that link to this policy), use our online services, or interact with KARE Verify or other offerings (collectively, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy applies to information collected through the Services. It does not apply to Protected Health Information (“PHI”) as defined under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (“HIPAA”) and its implementing regulations when such information is handled by us in our capacity as a Business Associate. PHI processed on behalf of our covered entity clients (such as Patient Support Programs, pharma manufacturers, or healthcare providers) is governed by our Business Associate Agreements (“BAAs”) and the applicable covered entity’s Notice of Privacy Practices.

*Limited patient demographic data for benefits discovery and eligibility verification (name, DOB, ZIP, etc.)
*Other information you voluntarily provide in support of Patient Support Programs (PSPs) or eligibility checks
Automatically Collected Information
*Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and timestamps
Cookies, web beacons, and similar tracking technologies (see Section 7 below)
*Information from Third Parties
*Data received from Surescripts, Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs), payers, or other integrated partners for eligibility and benefits verification
*Information from your employer, healthcare provider, or PSP partner (with appropriate authorization)
*We limit collection to what is necessary for providing the Services.
How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
*Providing and improving the KARE Verify platform, including real-time eligibility checks, benefits discovery, and cost estimates
*Processing insurance verification requests and delivering accurate coverage information to PSPs or authorized systems
*Facilitating Patient Support Program enrollment and services
*Communicating with you (e.g., responding to inquiries, providing updates, or sending service-related notices)
*Performing internal operations, analytics, and service enhancements
*Detecting, preventing, and addressing fraud, security issues, or technical problems
*Complying with legal obligations, including HIPAA where applicable, and responding to lawful requests from authorities
*We do not use your information for marketing purposes without your consent.
How We Share Your Information
We may share information in the following circumstances:
*With Service Providers and Partners: We share data with trusted vendors, subcontractors, and technology partners (e.g., Surescripts, cloud hosting providers) who assist in delivering the Services. These parties are contractually obligated to protect your information and use it only for the purposes we specify.
*With Covered Entities and PSPs: Eligibility and benefits data is shared with the healthcare providers, Patient Support Programs, or pharma partners you authorize or who are involved in your care or program enrollment.
*For Legal Compliance and Protection: We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, court order, or government request; to protect the rights, property, or safety of KARE PharmTech, our users, or the public; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
*Business Associates: When we act as a Business Associate under HIPAA, sharing occurs only as permitted by the BAA and HIPAA rules.
We do not sell personal information or PHI to third parties for monetary consideration.
Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, consistent with industry standards and applicable law (including HIPAA Security Rule requirements where PHI is involved). These include encryption for data in transit and at rest, access controls, audit logging, and regular security assessments.
However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you transmit information at your own risk.

We retain your information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. PHI is retained according to our BAAs and applicable retention requirements.

*For PHI governed by HIPAA, you have rights through the covered entity that is your healthcare provider or plan sponsor.
